Happy New Year Section 1 softball fans.
I know we are looking outside side and dreaming of the days when the grass is green and the chalk is laid out so we can start the softball season.
I do want to give you a heads up that the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 preseason rankings is out.
Right off the top, you’ll spot former Somers standout Tammy Wray and LSU at No. 19.
Also garnering votes is former Ursuline standout Taylor Pirone and Hofstra University.
Can you guys spot any other former Section 1 players on any of the teams and the future home of Section 1 players Sammy Fernandez of Carmel and Theresa Swertfager of John Jay?
